A hand-constructed necklace shaped by material history and tactile rhythm.

Design Concept

This one-of-a-kind necklace is composed using yak bone beads once strung as a prayer strand on the Tibetan plateau. The existing wear, spacing, and tonal variation of the beads inform the structure of the piece. 

Cotton thread is used throughout, with the entire piece constructed through hand-knotting. The continuous structure keeps the necklace close to the body and emphasizes touch and repetition. A single small silver bead appears at the end of the knot, introducing a quiet point of light and refinement.

The design follows a steady rhythm, moving between pale yak bone and dark wooden elements. Proportion, surface, and sequence are considered carefully, allowing the materials to speak through restraint.

The necklace sits with weight and warmth against the body. Its hand-knotted structure and natural materials encourage a slower, more attentive way of wearing — quiet, tactile, and grounded.
